"Each summer, wasps in the UK capture about 14 million kilogrammes of insects such as caterpillars and greenfly, making them important friends to gardeners" …And they feed on people too. A couple of years ago I heard a buzzing in my computer room and thought it a bee. I tried to shoo it out the window but it disappeared somewhere. Over a week later whilst at the computer I felt a bite on one of my ankles which I thought was a spider. Pulling up the bottom of my jeans I found the wasp gobbling away. Not even me disturbing it frightened it off, I literally had to swipe it off. Reckon it must have been starving, as it made multiple incisions into my skin. Seems there weren't enough stray spiders in the room to satisfy it. Gee that bite hurt.
