The OneTab extension is your friend. Lets you, among other things, archive however many tabs you have open and re-open them later. I flush my open tab once a week with it, and whenever I search for something I was looking at a couple of weeks back, I can just grep through the list of URLs Mind you, it won't solve the problem that the website content might have changed in the meantime. For that, archive.is is your friend, but it requires conscious effort to archive a specific site so not ideal either.
