Pichai's strategic vision is, and was, AI, and that proved to be right, or at least, not clearly wrong yet. The only failing was that it was ChatGPT and not Google that made the crucial LLM breakthrough and won first mover advantage. If anything, his failing is maintaining the right corporate culture (and not his vision).
