Ask HN: What are some of the best designed products in the past few years?
- RomaTesla 2y agoI'm really enjoying Arc Browser lately. They thought of many small things that don't seem to be revolutionary on the surface but that make life easier, like their bookmarks/folders structure, spaces, Easels that I surprisingly use for visual bookmarking or drafting ideas or moodboards. Plus each interaction is well polished, you can see the team poured their hearts and souls into this project.
- yareyaredawa 2y agohow's it looking on Windows?
- samier-trellis 2y agoNot as good as on Mac. It doesn't seem to have the same scope of settings configurable, and there are a few UI differences that seem unnecessary and marginally worse, such as putting the URL and "Site Control Center" thingy on top instead of with the left panel, as on Mac. I still recommend though, fwiw.
- yareyaredawa 2y agoI really love using Notion, integrations are nice, I love the customizability. I find myself using it daily
- pilgrim0 2y agoRaycast, the spotlight replacement for macOS. It’s a whole system in itself, consistent design and interactions, and allows you to develop extensions locally in a very straightforward manner. Also it’s very fast.
- eimrine 2y agoI love the idea of Weechat/Telegram/Apple as some gorgeously designed jails which are so good that they keep attracting real people more and more. I can not forget the info leak when top managers from Aapl have considered to disallow ability to install their FaceTime on Androids for the sake of prevent ppl to buy Androids to their kids. I do not know any human-made ecosystem in the world that works better for 51% of Earth population.
