Facebook demonetises popular guinea pigs page
- xhkkffbf 2y agoIT would be nice for FB to at least explain the decision. I know the scale makes it daunting to actually treat users like humans, but it would still be nice.
- zh3 2y agoThe usual answer to that is that small websites who make far less money and have massively fewer resources managed to treat their users like humans. But, of course, Facebook users are not the customers (those are the advertisers) - here, the users are the product and it costs to provide product support.
- vorticalbox 2y agoI have donated to them before they do a wonderful job of housing these guinea pigs. It’s a real sham meta are lot more forthcoming with there support. I honestly wish these guys the best in getting this sorted. 100s of animals depend on them.
- zh3 2y agoIhdeed - looks like their only hope for support from Meta is a post on HN getting the attention of their PR department.
- vorticalbox 2y agoI do hope so. I wish them the best of luck.
- holoduke 2y agoI wonder if at some point support becomes good and effective again when AI bots are really outperforming human support people. Must be possible at some point I would say.
- BonoboIO 2y agoMy ex gf got 5 guinea pigs and you just have to love them. I miss them, but this post brought back some sweet memories.
