I chose a location, opened maps.app and it seems to 'think' the phone is at the new location.
But
Why does doordash still know PRECISELY where the phone is? I turned off location permission for it, 'force stop'd it and then relaunched and reenabled precise, always ON Location sharing.
Shouldn't the app be fooled?
What gives?
- gpsGuys 2y agoA basic mock location app like this labels its output locations as fake to the operating system. https://developer.android.com/reference/android/location/Location#isMock https://developer.android.com/reference/android/location/Loc...() will return true. Apps can choose to ignore the fake locations and use a last known location instead. So maybe it's just displaying the last known location, rather than somehow getting your current location?
