I added pay ranges for the ones I know. I can also say that as a Staff Software Engineer on the mobile team, I make a bit over $200k base, in addition to bonus and equity. All the usual benefits: healthcare, 401k matching (Vanguard), unlimited PTO (I take about 5 weeks a year), etc. You also get a sabbatical after 5 years of employment.
Feel free to reply here or email nathan@[company site] if you have any questions. (To apply, please submit your info on the website.)
- zerr 2y agoWhy remote jobs from US shops are US-only while non-US companies that hire remotely hire worldwide? Is it that hard to have cross-border B2B relationships in US? Or is it more like a cultural thing?
- nfriedly 2y agoWell, for employees, that's not a B2B relationship. The employer has to make sure they're following the applicable tax and labor laws in each country they have employees in. I imagine there's also some cultural aspect to it, and keeping everyone in relatively close timezones also has it's benefits.
- shal_javascript 2y agoIts actually quite easy for US companies to hire talent globally (without visiting other countries or even setting up companies there) https://www.deel.com/hire-contractors/ https://www.deel.com/hire-contractors/ For eg, I am an Indian frontend dev, living in India and have worked with several US and EU companies. I am happy to be paid say 30 USD per hour, as a contractor, and would manage my own taxes, 401k, healthcare, pensions, etc give it a try - you can easily save atleast 70k USD to 100k+ USD a year per developer.
- zerr 2y agoPlease don't do it. Target US clients for US-grade compensation. Advocate your superior talent, not the dumped price. Most people in low-salary locations are used to low quality of life and they just continue living that life. They don't have to. Aim for better QoL.
- zerr 2y agoI mean, when companies hire remotely worldwide, it is usually B2B contracting relationships. Sometimes intermediary companies are used which specialize setting up entities globally and hiring people as employees of themselves.
- nfriedly 2y agoOk, that's fair. I suppose I don't really know why.
