If you sync your MacOS machine to the equivalent Google services (Calendar, Mail, Contacts, Music, Photos), you can then sync your Android to the same things. This is what I do, and have been super happy with the arrangement. Though, you are trading one behemoth for another. You could, of course, substitute some of the pieces of this with your own, or other services without a hitch.
