I love Go, and it's probably my go-to language (ha!) for any general programming. The tooling is simply excellent, and I love how much you can do with the 'go' command.
That being said, your bit about 'magic' really resonated with me. There's just so much to _remember_ when you write a simple program, and some of it doesn't have any intuition (private vs. Public). Unused variables and imports being errors also bothers me, although I completely understand the reason behind it.

Could you share an example of one of these scripts? I struggle to think of any scripting that I wouldn't rather do in Python / Bash.
