People need to stop applauding the internet retaliation mobs. Flaming this lawyer's email won't have any positive effect. If you want to show your support, donate to the charity, don't engage in anti-social behaviour. Generally speaking vigilantism and mob-vigilantism are negative.
Whether or not the target in this reddit / 4chan / whatever pile-on deserves it, taking part isn't good internet citizenry.

And actually, since the charity fundraising in question[0], which had an initial goal of 20K$, is up to 160K$, my guess is that fueling this issue, giving it press, and making people excited/angry about it ends up, as a side effect, raising even more money for the charity. - theorique 14y agoCitizens are encouraged to send one on one communications to their congressman, senator, member of parliament, and so forth. Many activist groups encourage citizens to send such communications. How does this differ from expressing disapproval directly to this lawyer for participating in a meritless and baseless extortion request?
