ACM used to stand for technical excellence. Now you see an increasing amount of articles that are basically mainstream commercials, ranging from defending CoC mobs to "AI isn't that bad, we have to roll over and adapt".
Other institutions like the ACLU have also been hollowed out in a similar manner.

- PeterStuer 2y agoI'm guessing 'Code of Conduct'. Basically, depending on your leanings, the 'safety' crowd 'mobbing' online to leash any AI R&D, though in practice it is more an 'AI for me but not for thee' lobby.
