> Now OpenAI has announced that it has created a "five-level system" to track development toward Artificial General Intelligence and "human-level problem-solving," a non-story that should be treated with deep suspicion.
> According to Bloomberg, these five levels go from Level 1 ("Chatbots, AI with conversational language") to Level 5 ("Organizations, AI that can do the work of an organization") and, somehow, Bloomberg credulously accepted an OpenAI spokesperson's statement that it is "on Level 1, but on the cusp of Level 2," when GPT can do "human-level problem solving" without any explanation of what that means, how that's measured, or how GPT, a model that probabilistically guesses the right thing to do next, will start "reasoning," a thing that Large Language Models cannot do according to multiple academics.
