- woodruffw 2y agoIf you rank US cities by both violent crime and by hostility to the urban fabric (e.g. development of highways through dense neighborhoods, removal of reliable mass transit), a pattern emerges: the most dangerous cities in the US are also among the most car dependent. Detroit, Memphis, Birmingham, etc. This also closely tracks with residential air quality.
