Article resonates with me a lot. I've worked on countless projects where I put a lot of effort in designing things cleanly and correctly, only to find out afterwards that it wasn't really necessary. In many cases they were R&D projects that might have turned into concrete products but didn't. It's hard to design software systems and architectures in such a way that perfection is added incrementally as needed. But I think it's in the core of being productive.
