Cyberpunk as a genre died a rare very final death, the stories came true, the futures they warned of became fact.
- amarcheschi 2y agoWell, we don't have androids (yet), we don't have corpos lobbying much more than the past (at least in europe, where we even sometimes care about digital rights. Different results in the us tho). We don't have cybernetic talons that spread from your limbs to kill someone. We don't have much of what the classic cyberpunk scenario has. We do, however, have an always (or almost always) available way to connect with other people in the world always with us, we're approaching new types of ownership (where you don't own nothing, but rent everything), to me the future we'll live into will be much different than what cyberpunk author's envisioned
- Rhapso 2y agoI don't think you understood what the important parts of cyberpunk were.
