I'm wondering if there are any security standards maintained by standards bodies, like ISO, that a company might pay to be certified as upholding that require a fired employee lose network access and leave the workplace immediately?
Anecdotally I am not aware of any in the private sector in the U.S. Usually this is documented in corporate security policies and standards that may be referenced conditionally by SOC1/SOC2 self volunteered audit documentation and PCI audit documentation but that will vary by industry type and individual organizations. My anecdotes come from the private sector in managed hosting and in financial tech and whilst I was not in compliance I spent a big portion of my career working directly with compliance and legal. Perhaps someone here in the public sector has something more to add.
