Elon Musk Wants to Use 5B from Tesla to Bail Out XAI
- hunglee2 2y agothe man is writing his own script. It's fair to say any other CEO behaving like this would've long since been removed. However, Musk is a strategic asset for the US (see SpaceX, Starlink, Tesla, arguably X) and he can't be taken down like the PRC did to Jack Ma. He's also obviously partisan in his domestic politics, so an asset for Trump also.
- skhunted 2y agoHe is not a strategic asset for the U.S. He isn’t taken down like Jack Ma because the U.S. is a different system than China. SpaceX would not collapse if Musk were replaced as CEO. Same for the other companies.
- The_Colonel 2y agoSpaceX would likely do fine, Tesla too, but its stock would get a major correction, Twitter might actually recover some losses without Musk, X.ai might go bust, but that company has no importance as of now.
- mrkeen 2y ago"Bail out" to me implies that things were good, then went bad, but could be made good again (at someone else's expense). Was xAI ever in a good state? What would such a good state look like? This feels like "speculation" or "gambling" rather than bailing out.
- Zigurd 2y agoIt's also self-dealing against the interest of TSLA holders. But those people seem especially masochistic.
