I feel like basically ever since 2008, at least half the country has convinced themselves it’s a recession even when the job market was nuclear over heated.

- Kon-Peki 2y agoYou know, there is a technical definition of a recession, and even if someone were to memorize that definition, they’d have to understand some concepts to really know what it means. At least 90% of American adults can do this. But nobody that is taking a survey is going to ensure that every respondent understands the concepts before asking their questions. So this is more like 3 in 5 Americans feel like we’re in a recession according to their own feelings of what a recession is supposed to look and feel like. And you know what - if you aren’t upper middle class or above, it probably does feel really shitty right now.
