The US once had flourishing sugar cane plantations. There is some research (I think in North Carolina?) about how to bring it back.
- Dudhbbh3343 2y agoPlease don't, until burning of fields is strictly outlawed. Burning of sugarcane to make it easier to harvest is a huge contributor to air pollution in SE Asia. And I believe some places in the US still allow it.
- athenot 2y agoHawaii got rid of all their sugar cane, replacing it with coffee and other higher-value crops.
- howard941 2y agoIt still does. It lives in and between Palm Beach county through south of Lake Okeechobee.
