To be fair, a writing a ray tracer forces one to learn more about a language than just Hello, World!
- muzani 2y agoIt's completely fair but I can't build a ray tracer with languages I've used over 10 years.
- Doxin 2y agoIt's one of those things where if you've done it once you can repeat from memory for the most part. Personally I've never quite managed to get a ray tracer working properly. The math is too dense for me when bugs happen. I can fairly easily get a wireframe cube rendered and spinning though, took me months to figure out the first time but once you know the path it's easy enough.
