I live in a city in Canada, every 6 months I tend to give Apple Maps a try.
Inside of this year there have been multiple times where the Apple Maps route is 3x longer.
15 min vs 45 min
55 min vs 1 hr 25 min
I want to use Apple Maps, but don't let these comments from NYC, LA, etc make you think its close to par with Google Maps.
Because its not.
- hellcow 2y agoIs this due to it having inaccurate traffic estimates, or is it just picking bad routes independently of traffic?
- bnchrch 2y agoVery bad routes. In the 45 min example: Instead of taking the wide open freeway beside us it put us through downtown, to the other side of town, to a different freeway. But it didnt get us on the freeway itself, just residential roads beside it. It was comically insane.
