seems odd that you didn't include the next sentence:
"The FHA, upon authorizing loans for the construction of Levittown, included racial covenants in each deed, making each Levittown a segregated community."
That is, the FHA included the covenants, not Levitt.
- mikeyouse 2y agoLevitt was absolutely a racist, the FHA eventually found the covenants to be illegal discrimination and Levitt sued the government and attempted to maintain them all the way to the US Supreme Court. Defending William Levitt in 2024 is a real choice.
