When comparing history's greatest chess players, people have looked to using relative strength measures like Elo. A newer approach is to use superhuman bots like Stockfish and directly evaluate each player's moves. I wonder how long until someone applies this idea to evaluating books, TV, and film. The most controversial part of it will be how to operationalize whether one book is "better", but I'm leaning towards the idea that this approach would actually be pretty helpful in finding good books to read.
