Tangent: my friend Chris Smith (who's legally blind) is nearing the end of a 2,700 mile solo unsupported mountain bike race from west of Calgary all the way down the Rockies to the Mexican border. His almost unprecedented efforts are in support of Foundation Fighting Blindness.
