This is tricky! We've got someone who some might classify as a jerk on our team, but in so many regards this comes down to how they interact on slack. Every effort to improve slack comms has failed here, but enough of the team has worked with them for long enough to know that they're actually kind. However, we often have to warn new team members, or those who work in distant parts of the company that rarely interact. They are so valuable though; its a hard trade off.
