What would be the alternative? I think Unicode is pretty great.
You can pretty easily imagine a world where we had a bunch of different encodings with none being dominant.
- WalterBright 2y agoThe alternative would be to strip out all the fonts, markup, semantics, directions, and normalization. Unicode should simply be a character set. And life would be much simpler.
