Is the RISC-V HiFive Premier 550 available?
- snvzz 2y agoThere's Sipeed LM5A module as an alternative[0]. 0. https://x.com/SipeedIO/status/1801460880481169735 https://x.com/SipeedIO/status/1801460880481169735
- brucehoult 2y agoAlso not yet shipping. Don't think I can be bothered. A quad P550 would have been an instant buy a year ago when Horse Creek was promised, but now the 8 core SpacemiT chip has about the same total performance, is a lot cheaper, is also available in either Pi or Mini-ATX form factors (and laptop!), and has 256 bit vectors (P550 has none). Have an LPi3A 16 GB on order, next purchase after that will probably be SG2380 which should be a major leap.
- snvzz 2y agoAgree. RVA20 just isn't exciting, even if faster than what's otherwise available. I would go for the 16GB spacemiT K1/M1, but since I already preordered MILK-V Oasis, I can wait for that.
