How did people differentiate between 1 and L, 5 and S, 0 and O?

- Retr0id 2y agoI'm a fan of HPDL-1414 display modules, which have an integrated character ROM covering the symbols and upper-case part of ASCII: https://www.farnell.com/datasheets/76528.pdf https://www.farnell.com/datasheets/76528.pdf It does have a few more segments, but all the glyphs it covers are distinguishable.
