Roku with a pihole is fairly tolerable. I do hate how they keep adding shit to my home screen that I don’t want though.
- grues-dinner 2y agoThe "function" that instantly drops you out of your app into an advertising funnel if you press the wrong button (the obvious one to press, naturally) while the screensaver is on is a real scumbag move. Just takes one dark pattern to make me assume everything you do is a money grab.
- NotYourLawyer 2y agoI just use the streaming stick with a dumb tv. The actual Roku tv does seem pretty bad.
- internet101010 2y agoRoku filed a patent for technology that will play ads when you pause something on another device, such as a video game console. You couldn't pay me to own a TV with Roku as the OS.
