Good point. Most of the games I have played in recent years have been indie titles. Sometimes they are CPU intensive but rarely GPU intensive. It feels like graphics in games have reached a sort of plateau now where the most visually realistic games are only marginally more realistic looking than something from nearly 10 years ago.
