It's taken way too long to finally realize the "Atomic Family", just a couple who want kids, and their own house... was a colossal mistake. It's a pressure cooker designed to promote Post-Partum depression, and parents who are overwhelmed. Without an extended family and support network, raising a child becomes an overwhelming burden, and the parents end up feeling they were lied to about the supposed joys of parenting. I'm so glad we didn't move away from home and family.
