Ask HN: Any CI/CD SaaS Solutions for ARM?
Are there any services similar to GitHub Actions that support GitHub Actions Marketplace and also have arm64 and arm32 runners?
- crohr 2y agoYou could also be interested in https://runs-on.com https://runs-on.com. Must be installed in your AWS account (1-click cloudformation template), and then you can use any instance type offered by AWS.
- vednig 2y agoSure, I will check it out.

- vednig 2y agoYeah, unfortunately there are only large runners avilable for arm64. I have medium to low workload for building. Additionally, they are only available on paid plans.
- suryao 2y agoCheck out what we're building at WarpBuild. We provide fast compute for various architectures and OSes.
- vednig 2y agoYeah, checked you out too, yours seems like the only feasible alternative.
- vednig 2y agoWhat stack have you built WarpBuild on? Is it Azure or AWS?
- suryao 2y agoIt's AWS mostly though we do have multi cloud presence that we're expanding in the next couple of months
- vednig 2y agoCause, I recently encountered problem with Azure's Network in Virginia and Arizona so I would prefer any other stack. Spent hours debugging only to be known that it's beyond my control. :)
- suryao 2y agoWe faced that as well and that's one of the reasons for the diversification across clouds
- pwmtr 2y agoAt Ubicloud, we have ARM64 runners. They are compatible with Github Runners. It is just one line change in your workflow file. It is also 6x more cost effective than Github Runners (btw. our x64 runners are 10x more cost effective) More informative can be found here https://www.ubicloud.com/use-cases/github-actions https://www.ubicloud.com/use-cases/github-actions and here https://www.ubicloud.com/docs/github-actions-integration/quickstart https://www.ubicloud.com/docs/github-actions-integration/qui...
- vednig 2y agoThat seems promising, I only require arm runner currently. Ubicloud has GitHub Runners on AWS right?
- pwmtr 2y agoOur runners are running on our own infrastructure. We get bare metal instances from providers like Hetzner or Leaseweb and virtualize them. Your runners run on the ephemeral VMs on those bare metal instances. Is being on AWS a requirement for you? Is it because of caching? We also have our own runner cache. You can find more information from here https://www.ubicloud.com/docs/github-actions-integration/ubicloud-cache https://www.ubicloud.com/docs/github-actions-integration/ubi... If you have more questions, please let me know or alternatively you can send us a mail from support@ubicloud.com
- vednig 2y agoThat's even better.
