  “ To maintain their current quality of life, citizens across almost all high-income countries must either open their borders to new immigrants or work more.” Issue is that soon there won’t be many immigrants available as countries start fighting for them.

      Total integrated (productivity * worker hours) lowers when workers fall faster than productivity improves.

        That's true but we don't know what the slope of those curves are. Also, less productivity is needed in total to support a lower population at the same standard of living.
