Born too late to enjoy exponential asset growth. Born too soon to see the true environmental impact of the asset growth.
Lost generation, can I just get some drugs to cope please, my computer job is making me lose my humanity ;(
Just kidding it’s all good :)
- JKCalhoun 2y agoIt would make an interesting film(book/documentary/comic?) where the protagonist is laid off because the factory in Anytown, Georgia closes down and by some magical plot contrivance he is able to move to Shenzhen and get his job back. You could go a lot of different ways, or several at once, with this set up.
- freeone3000 2y agoThis is the excuse-plot around Shenzhen IO; you then spend the rest of the game making awful novelty tchotchkes
- MattGaiser 2y agoGiven the experiences of my white friends in China, a laid off factory worker moving to Shenzhen would have done extremely well for himself, especially back then.
- boringg 2y agoYou know what you kind of hit the nail on the head there -- that narrative has really been pushed by a lot of sources and that kills internal drive if you think all your efforts are for naught. I don't believe that narrative though. Also your comment too late for exponential asset growth -- that never stops (see crypto, AI Stocks, tooling stocks, etc). The cycle always continues.
