Show HN: Fynyky–Zero-Based Budgeting and Personal Finance Management
We are launching our MVP with our zero based budgeting feature, as it defines the structure of the whole app.
You can also easily import your transactions with secure bank syncing. We use Plaid to fetch only your latest transaction data.
Rest assured, we don't save any sensitive information in our database.
We only save the bank account name, which you can edit, or you can simply revoke the connection to Plaid, which only has access to receive the latest transactions.
We're working on CSV imports too, coming soon!
While we're kicking off with budgeting, we've got big plans ahead. Think leverage , tax filing , and smart projections for you high-earners out there. But first things first – let's get that budget sorted!
Our mobile app is in the works, and we will release beta access to early adopters soon.
- justusthane 2y agoYou're competing with YNAB, so it would be interesting to see a comparison of what you think you do better than them (other than being a bit cheaper).
- msbouchard 2y agoHi, we will not be competing on price but on the value we offer. Our app will not solely focus on budgeting. The only thing we will have in common with YNAB is that we use the Zero-Based Budgeting principle for our budgeting feature. Our app will evolve to cater to leverage signaling, tax savings signaling, and projections for the FIRE community.
- justusthane 2y agoThe stuff you're planning on offering in the future is cool, but my point is right now it doesn't seem that there's any reason to choose you over YNAB.
- msbouchard 2y agoAlso, to add to the above, our tech stack includes Next.js, Firebase, Recharts (we will be moving to Shadcn charts soon), Tailwind, Headless UI, React for UI, Redux for state management, and TypeScript.
