- slater 2y agoThere was a thread; they are allowed. https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html
- unraveller 2y agoThe assassination attempt was suppressed until people had discussed it from all angles thoroughly elsewhere and gave up trying to discuss here. Definitely not allowed in the normal sense. But here it's nothing but an instant popup blue rally, for something was totally expected.
- slater 2y agoThis post was flagged for a while, as was the trump post, for a while.
- lesuorac 2y agotbh, while I think flagging is manual, I definitely don't mind if political posts were just auto-flagged and then only one of them is "let through". Don't need 20 threads about the politics of the day with 19 of them having the top comment being "duplicate of <link>".
- Capricorn2481 2y ago> The assassination attempt was suppressed until people had discussed it from all angles thoroughly elsewhere and gave up trying to discuss here That's a lot of made up shit in one sentence.
- shadowgovt 2y agoBecause HN is not a democracy. ;)
- 10xDev 2y agoDon't worry Trump will make sure we will never forget about it anyway so it will find its way into conversation like it is now.
