looks like you can just use a connection URL, https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/libpq-connect.html#LIBPQ-CONNSTRING-URIS https://www.postgresql.org/docs/current/libpq-connect.html#L..., it's possible to use it to connect to a unix socket that way.
