Ask HN: How to reliably auto assign categories on posts?
I have website that has thousands of posts and I want to auto assign categories to each of them so I can implement a category filter. What are some good ways to easily and quickly do this?

- john200ok 2y agoI tried using AI but I wasn't successful. It generates a lot of similar variations of a specific category and if I provide a list of options it still uses categories that are not on the list.
- apothegm 2y agoMake it two separate tasks. Once it’s categorized everything and there are too many categories, set it a separate task to consolidate categories.

- john200ok 2y agoGenerating that list will take a lot of time and effort. I think there will be like hundreds of categories. But let's say I have a list of categories and it's ready to be used, how can the posts be auto-assigned to the relevant categories?
