Sandra Hemme freed after 43 years in prison for murder she didn't commit
- lifeisstillgood 2y agoThe other suspect was a police officer, who used the victims credit card after the crime claiming he “found it in a ditch”. Dear god if the writers of “law and order” had tried that one the producers would have laughed them back into the writing room.
- JoeAltmaier 2y agoIneligible for social security? Well, sue the local police force for 20 million dollars (and probably win). That'd tide her over.
- mojomark 2y agoFor some of it, she won't have to. She just needs to file a claim for the compensation she's owed for each year incarcerated, which in Missouri [1] appears to be $65K (or for the subject, about $2.7M). However, I agree with you that kidnapping someone for decades should yield a larger sum to allow the person to live extremely well for the rest of their remaining time alive. At least, that's how I would feel if it happened to me or worse, someone I cared about on a personal level. 1. https://www.senate.mo.gov/22info/BTS_Web/Bill.aspx?SessionType=R&BillID=73129357#:~:text=The%20claimant%20shall%20bring%20such,than%20%2465%2C000%20per%20fiscal%20year https://www.senate.mo.gov/22info/BTS_Web/Bill.aspx?SessionTy....
