This is why I believe felons / prisoners should be able to vote. Not allowing a significant portion of the population to vote leads to them being treated poorly.
- LocalH 2y agoConsidering what this country was founded on, perhaps people without voting rights should also have zero tax liability in any way.
- AnthonyMouse 2y agoIt's worse than that. It allows politicians to disenfranchise the people they want to treat poorly. War on Drugs is the case in point. The entire system is abusive and corrupt, but most of the people with first-hand experience are automatically disenfranchised, so it has persisted for generations against all reason.
