There are no rules for side projects. Consider just removing or skipping the test parts if they are slowing you down. Sometimes project progress and fun is more important than industry best practices.
Maybe decide to release by the end of the weekend, and be brutal about dropping anything that's not absolutely necessary for release.

- arp242 2y agoAnd there are no deadlines or other targets to meet either. "Don't work on it for a year because I don't feel like it" is perfectly reasonable and valid.
- ffsm8 2y agoThat usually ends up in the project getting archived without the satisfaction of actually having finished something though.
