I don't know. I have been trying to hire an experienced C++ developer for 6+ months and the market seems to be dry.
And we don't play stupid question games when interviewing. Candidates are asked to review and find bugs in 2 pages of really bad C++ code. And to walk us through how they would solve a more high level production problem.
I get plenty of CVs from Python or Java developers who thinks that knowing Python or Java makes them experienced C++ developers. Eh no it doesn't.
- dennis_jeeves2 2y agoWhy don't you hire the Python or Java developers and have them learn on the job?
- deterministic 2y agoBecause it takes years to become good at C++. Python and Java are relatively simple languages to learn.
- dennis_jeeves2 2y agoSo no hope for any one in Python, Java or a beginner to ever get a C++ job through you?
