'Musk Is Supporting a MAGA Ticket That Will Just Hurt Tesla'
- deleted 2y ago[deleted]
- richrichie 2y agoMusk got hurt by the Democrat ticket that he voted for last time around. So it is only rational for him to take his chances with a Republican ticket.
- downrightmike 2y agoWhen you take billions of government investment to get running, where does he think all that money came from? It came from taxes, and now he has to pay in, so we can use it for other companies.
- richrichie 2y agoBut, isn’t that the case with others, including government agencies, benefiting from the ESG grift pulled on us tax paying suckers?
- pavel_lishin 2y agoWhat's ESG?
- downrightmike 2y agoGiven the emerald mine and the slums his family run, it make sense he would like fascism, it made him what he is today
- smarm52 2y agoCapitalistic businesses are run like little fascist dictatorships [1]. And so it seems natural that owners would have interests that align with fascism. [1] De Mesquita, B. B., Smith, A., Siverson, R. M., & Morrow, J. D. (2005). The logic of political survival. MIT press.
- techostritch 2y agoTesla is an AI company right? Not an electric car company, the 2024 Republican platform explicitly calls out support of AI. Will the MAGA ticket really hurt Tesla electric cars more than Musk already has? If he’s pivoting away from cars, he doesn’t seem like the kind of guy to want to do it slowly, so seems relatively logical.
- mark_l_watson 2y agoI don’t see how Musk could do anything but support republicans for this one particular election. The Biden administration seems to be personally going after Musk. If the executive of a country attacks you, then you support the other guy in the next election. I have been a loyal democrat for most of my life, but when I saw President Biden giving a speech and he mentioned Musk and flat out said we should investigate this guy, I can’t express how disappointed I was.
- peutetre 2y ago> I don’t see how Musk could do anything but support republicans for this one particular election. He could choose to not support any party or candidate publicly and just sell cars. He could choose to not use Twitter to push his opinions and endorsements on Twitter users. But it's true that his attention seeking narcissism won't allow him to do that.
