And you need this for the intended purpose why exactly?
From the article:
> The t1.micro RDS instance is a low cost instance type designed for low traffic web applications, test applications and small projects
- true_religion 14y agoHe's complaining about RDS in general, not this specifically priced offering of it.
- cheatercheater 14y agoSo what is he doing commenting on an article that talks about this specially priced offering of it?
- omarqureshi 14y agoHe's informing us of the drawbacks of using the other plans. This special plan would be (for some) dipping toes in the water of RDS only to find out its infested with piranhas.
- mryan 14y agoThe article about the new MacBook Pro line also included a discussion of Airs and Mac Pros. Sometimes the discussion strays beyond the boundaries of the headline. Most of the time that is a good thing - I for one am interested in the point the OP raised, which is that RDS (at all instance sizes) gives you no visiblity in to what is happening under the covers on your DB server.
- ceejayoz 14y agoSomeone using a micro RDS might want to be aware of the pitfalls once they go into production on a larger instance?
