Maybe that will sound banal to some but C would be so much more enjoyable to me if it had a "cargo" system and no implicit imports.

- rational_indian 2y agoThat's the problem with C. It cannot have a sane cargo like system. The language is not built for writing libraries. There is a reason why everyone keeps reinventing the wheel when it comes to datastructures in C. Where is STL for C?
- Ragnarork 2y agoThe closest is GLib and it's absolutely not fun to work with.
- simon_void 2y agoyou could use the Zig build system as your C build system. See https://zig.news/kristoff/make-zig-your-c-c-build-system-28g5 https://zig.news/kristoff/make-zig-your-c-c-build-system-28g...
- rational_indian 2y agoCargo is just half the story. The other half is rust itself. It is an excellent language for writing abstractions.
- dragonelite 2y agoThat's why i like zig it has at least the very basic with build.zig for build script. You have build.zig.zon for build.zig dependencies.
