Name one example.
- lofaszvanitt 2y agoUse your imagination. All I'm saying that there is room for research for new weapons that doesn't kill the individual, just neutralizes them, so if someone has some moment of rage or mental breakdown the person could live on after caught and treated. Create something that pins down the target or paralyzes like the taser, but from a distance. But if you blow everyone's brain out with 50+ year ago developed murder weapons, and think this is fine as it is, this will never happen.

- proc0 2y agoThe point is there isn't an alternative and using imagination isn't going to magically make that possible. If you are 200 yards away, a gun is probably the only way to stop someone in any way. Pepper spray, tasers, etc... none of that works from a distance that most guns can be fired at. Tear gas or other crowd control will not stop someone from taking a shot. If you're suggesting creating something new, then sure, but even then I would assume most things have been tried already. Nothing stops a gun from a distance except another gun.
- lofaszvanitt 2y agoWhy asian police use proper tools to immobilize/neutralize the individual who has a mental breakdown and runs amok with a knife? Of course there are ways to do it. You just have to want it.
