  basically the reply from PaulHoule. cases where a lack of competition enables corporations and even SMEs to run utterly nonsensical game theory-style pricing schemes, behavioral nudges and cooptation strategies, leaving the biggest part of their users/customers more dependent than before and less receptive to better or the (currently) best ways of doing things that are within his financial & time budget.
