This just doesn't seem to work at all, nothing I search for gives a result (I even tried the example "rent car"). I also don't understand how to add a chat

  Hi there Thank you for trying out ChatIndex.app and for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble finding results. To add a new chat, you can visit ChatIndex Chats and add the link to any public group, like this: https://t.me/groupname https://t.me/groupname in the text input field. I've checked the adding - it seems group was added in the queue to import but the queue is on loading, so the group would added after couple of hours. Not great UX, I agree - I'll fix it The catalog of groups is shared for search purposes, but please note that it currently contains about 10,000 groups, which may limit some search results. Could you please provide the specific query string you used? I'd be happy to check it and see what's going wrong. Thanks for your patience and understanding!

Can I ask about the reason it's not hosted on telegram itself as a bot?

  Sure Mostly UX: - when you're working on a lot of messages - it's hard with bot, but I'm thinking about adding bot for notifications for new messages - tuning keywords for search: adding keywords and stopwords - adding new groups to track, specially with CSV files
