I'd prefer OpenRA [1] or X86box[2] / PCEm [3]. The latter can even emulate BIOS + 3DFX cards, if configured correctly.
There also is a video by LTT on how to use and configure it correctly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWEE2RJj3YI https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWEE2RJj3YI

- gh02t 2y agoArticle is about Red Alert 2. OpenRA support has been a WIP for ages without much visible progress afaik, and it's a bit late vintage for stuff like PCem (though I haven't used PCem in a while so maybe I'm out of date on what it can do). Fond memories of playing it for hours on our decrepit budget Windows XP family computer that took eons to load a level. Last time I played it was in the Win 7 era, but I remember it working flawlessly. It even worked pretty well on resolutions way higher than it was ever intended to. I desperately want a remaster of it and Tiberian Sun.
