Identity isn't mentioned so much as the relative practicalities and economics of "cloud" versus "self-hosted" (on prem, distributed?). Maybe "where to put identity" is too flat a question. Identity is one part of modern authentication, one part of a trust model that includes roles, history, capability, reputation, origin, routes, proofs and much more before authorisation. Does that go in a place?
